My Rainy Day Attire

I have really enjoyed the rain this week. Not only did it drastically cool down the Texas heat but I also love to just sit and listen to thunderstorms. Any who let's move on to my rainy day attire.

Just because it's raining doesn't mean you can't dress stylishly. For example rain jackets come in all kinds of cute prints nowadays like the one I'm wearing below. It is from Modcloth (shop it here) however be forewarned this jacket is only water resistant not water proof. You know those Hunter rain boots you see all your favorite bloggers wearing? Well I didn't want to shell out $150 for rain boots so I found these look alike boots for $40 on amazon (shop them here). They look exactly the same. In fact I believe the only difference is the absence of the Hunter logo on the front. Lastly top your look off with a cute umbrella. I like this one because it's see through and I can watch the rain but there are tons of cute umbrellas out there. I've even seen some that look like frogs and pandas with ears and everything.

And yes I did actually do this photo shoot in the rain. It was super fun.

The Best Women's Watch + A Giveaway

I have been looking for the perfect timepiece to add to my closet and just hadn't been able to find one that I liked. You all know that I like my pieces to be really nice quality and really versatile. I hated the thought of having to shell out twice as much money for a watch in gold and silver. That's why I was so ecstatic to learn about JORD Watches.

(This is a sponsored post please refer to my Disclaimer statement for more information.)
JORD Watches are made out of wood instead of your typical metal or leather watches. This gives them that real versatility to go with anything. Also they are so unique there is nothing like them out there anywhere. I have received so many compliments and "Where did you get that" questions since I've started wearing it. I have the Fieldcrest Series Dark Sandalwood women's watch (shop it here). They have so many different women's watches to choose from in all kinds of woods and hues (shop all women's JORD Watches here).

Not only are JORD Watches top notch in quality but so is their entire shopping experience. First off upon ordering my watch I received a shipment tracking number within 20 minutes of the order. Now that's fast! When I opened the package upon receipt and found this luxurious wooden box I couldn't believe how much they spoiled their costumers. The box contained a cleaning cloth, extra watch band links, a care guide and of course the watch on this cute little pillow. I mean I could not believe how luxurious the experience was when their prices are very reasonable. Their watches start from $129 and go up form there which is very reasonable considering the quality.

Giveaway

I have partnered with JORD watches to offer you an exclusive giveaway. One lucky winner will receive a $75 e-voucher to JORD Watches. But wait there is more. Everyone who enters the giveaway will receive a $20 e-voucher to JORD Watches. To enter the giveaway click here. The giveaway ends on August 4th at 11:59pm. After that one winner will be selected at random for the $75 e-voucher ($75 e-voucher will expire on September 4th). Need even more incentive to get one of these beautiful watches? Here are 8 more reasons why I love my JORD wooden watch.
1. The watches are made by hand here in the U.S.A.
2. The are custom made to your wrist size.
3. They use sustainable resources.
4. Free shipping worldwide on all orders.
5. They come with a 12 month warranty in case you have any issues with your watch. But I highly doubt you will.
6. It can really go with anything. From gold and silver jewelry to leather accents.
7. It transcends style genres. The watch can be bohemian, luxurious, edgy, romantic and any other style genre you have in mind.
8. Each watch is unique. No piece of wood is the same as any other. So if you truly want a unique statement piece go with a JORD watch.

The Perfect Fall Transition Outfit

I can't believe it's already time to start talking about fall fashion. It seems like this year has flown by so quickly. Here in Houston we luckily get to wear our Summer fashions for a little while longer than most areas but I like to have a few pieces in my closet that can bridge the gap between seasons.

This top for example is the perfect example of an item of clothing that can transition from Summer to Fall. The length of the sleeves make it perfect for Fall but they are also short enough to be appropriate for Summer. The light material gives it a summery look and feel but just put a sweater or jacket over top and it will be perfect for Fall.

This top is from Banana Republic (shop it here). I paired it with some cropped, distressed jeans from Modcloth (shop them here). For my shoes I chose these cute red, lace up flats also from Modcloth for a pop of color (shop them here).

Blue Snake Print Dress

I have a love for pieces that can be both feminine and edgy at the same time. I found this dress at Banana Republic, it is currently on clearance and comes in two colors (shop it here). As soon as I saw it I had to have it. But the best part about this dress is that yes it does have pockets and the length. The length makes it possible for me to wear this dress to work as long as I wear a cardigan or a blazer on over it.

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

This was my first time shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and I must say it did not disappoint. I must admit I usually don't shop at Nordstrom because I typically can not afford their products but this sale gave me the opportunity to snag some great pieces at reasonable prices. Below I will list my favorite items I found from the sale as well as some shopping tips and what I actually purchased.

A Fun Edgy Look

Today I decided to dress a bit edgier than I normally do. I centered my outfit around this asymmetrical, draped top from Modcloth. I paired it with my Paige Denim jeans with the undone hem, bold blue heels from Banana Republic and chrome sunglasses, jewelry, and clutch all from Forever21.

I chose to do a bold lip color to really pull the look together.

Another Tulle Skirt

I actually stumbled upon this tulle midi skirt through a Buzzfeed article highlighting midi skirts. When I saw it I thought it was so dramatic and chic. I ended up purchasing it from Forever21 and I was not disappointed. I paired it with my black crop top from Chicwish, magenta Steve Madden heels and a simple silver necklace.

Lattes & Lipstick

I have been looking for a great graphic tee to feature on the blog. So when I saw this "Lattes & Lipstick" tee at Marshall's for $5 it was a no brainer. Plus what self respecting fashionista doesn't like lattes or lipstick?

Blue Striped Dress

So yesterday was cleaning day and if you know anything about me you know that today also has to be cleaning day because I am a huge procrastinator and only got a few things done yesterday. I ended up watching all three movies from The Hobbit Trilogy, doing some online shopping and maybe cleaning a few things here and there. So today is also going to be cleaning day and lets face it probably tomorrow too.

Twirling in Tulle + Travel Update

My husband and I have finally gotten home from visiting my family in Alabama for the 4th of July. We had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with my family whom we rarely get to see. When we left for Alabama we decided to drive the whole way in one day. Boy was that a big mistake it took us over 13 hours to get there and when you have a dog it really takes a tole. So on our way back we decided to make it a two day journey. This allowed us to visit New Orleans and Cafe Du Monde. Yes we ate some beignets and they were delicious. Then we walked down Bourbon Street for a block or two and to be honest it was kind of smelly and dirty. Although I did love all the architecture of the French Quarter.
