My Favorite Looks from the SAG Awards

There were so many beautiful looks at the SAG awards last night that it made it so difficult to choose my favorites. 

Dressing with Flare!

I love, love, love these jeans that I got at Banana Republic! It's not just because of the fact that they were only $11 but they are super soft and comfortable too. 

I paired these jeans with some of my favorite "go to" items. I have had this burgundy top from Ann Taylor for years and it has definitely been one of my favorite shirts because it is so versatile and comfortable. I also paired it with a black cardigan and black pumps. For my accessories I added the snake chain black and silver necklace, silver chain bracelet, and black fedora hat all from Forever21. Forever21 is one of my favorite places to buy accessories when I am looking for something trendy because of their really great prices. Finally I topped the outfit off with the Kate Spade bag that my husband got me for our one year anniversary. It provides a level of sophistication to a slightly more bohemian look.

Spring in My Step

Well today was cold and dreary unlike yesterday when the sun was shining after a short rain storm and it was 75 degrees outside. 

So yesterday I took the opportunity to style this beautiful baby blue dress I got at Banana Republic on Sunday.

Playing in the Rain

It was a beautiful day here in Houston it only rained for about an hour but that gave me the perfect opportunity to take some photos due to the cloud cover overhead.

I have been wanting to use my violin in a shoot for a while now but I just couldn't picture it with any of my previous outfits. This outfit however is absolutely perfect. The violin really compliments the colors and the style of the outfit is very classic and romantic.

The top is from White House Black Market and I loved it at first sight. The details on the sleeves make it so pretty. The skirt is from Modcloth and the Shoes are from Shoedazzle.com.

Living for the Weekend

When I received this lovely polka dot clutch early this week from Modcloth I couldn't wait to style it with an outfit. The fact that it is fuzzy makes it such a fun and quirky item and I fell in love with it. This clutch can be dressed up or down depending how you style it but today I decided on a casual look. 

Tuning in a Tunic

Today in all my classes our focus was on our intonation and making sure all of our notes were in tune. Needless to say it is a tedious task and requires a lot of patience. The students did wonderfully and were very patient and considerate of each other as we slowly worked through each song.

Ladies Night Out

I had a great time at Pete's Dueling Piano Bar here in Houston last night! My friends and I love going and singing along with all the great music!

We all decided to dress up for our ladies night so I donned my LBD and new red heels!

I loved shooting this post! It is not often that I get to dress like this. However it was not all fun. I did burn my thumb on my curling wand. OUCH!

My new camera lens came in the mail today! I got the AF-S 50mm and it works like a dream! I just couldn't resist posting two posts today because of these awesome photos.

Culottes!

When I first heard that culottes were back in style I couldn't believe it. I remember my great aunt wearing them when I was younger and they looked very matronly. But move over culottes of the past because modern day culottes look nothing like the ones from the past.
