Want to wear plaid to work but don't want to look boring like this.
Well trade those boring button downs for some more stylish pieces.
Plaid is one of the biggest print trends this season. I love it! I have always been a big fan of plaid. There are so many different ways you can wear plaid besides just the boring old button down from the above photo.
One of my favorite plaid pieces I have found this season is this fantastic dress from Modcloth.
It is a sleeveless dress so I paired it with a cardigan because I don't like to show my shoulders at work. I also paired it with a pair of black ankle boots but you could pair it with heels or flats if you'd like. Because the V in the neckline plunges pretty low I also added a black camisole underneath to keep it work appropriate.
I also got this plaid shirt from Modcloth and bonus it's on sale right now!
This shirt goes great tucked into a skirt but you could also wear it with straight leg trousers or jeans for a more casual look.
Here is another plaid shirt this one is from The Limited. I paired it with a black tassel necklace, straight leg trousers, black pumps and a bright red cardigan. I added the cardigan to give the outfit a nice pop of color but you could also wear an outfit like this without the cardigan.
Plaid blazers are everywhere this season and I love them. I got this one at Target but almost every clothing store has plaid blazers right now. I paired this one with all black items to really make the plaid blazer stand out.
There are so many other plaid items that you can wear to work besides the ones mentioned in this post. I really like plaid skirts but for me since I look so young already whenever I have tried one on I end up looking like a catholic school girl and that's just not the look I'm going for. Plaid scarfs are also a good and inexpensive way to incorporate plaid into your wardrobe.
