My blogging journey has been very challenging and rewarding for me. I had always wanted to start a fashion blog but I was always terrified of the writing aspect of starting a blog. Every time I would research starting a blog every page I read said that if you aren't good at writing or if you don't enjoy writing then you won't be a successful blogger. That is why it took me so long to start my blog. Writing was never easy for me throughout my education. I would always struggle in my classes that required a large amount of writing and frankly I hated writing.
Finally last November I mustered up my courage and decided to dive into the wonderful world of blogging. It has been a struggle sometimes for me figuring out what to write in my posts. Sometimes it takes me hours or even days to write a single post and I am always worried that my readers will notice that I am a terrible writer. But something else that I have noticed is that I am enjoying writing about something that I am passionate about. Maybe that's why I never enjoyed writing in school. Also my writing is improving according to my mom. And she would know being as I was homeschooled from kindergarten through 12th grade. She was a wonderful teacher and worked with me everyday on my writing to help me improve. I would not be where I am today if it weren't for her she was one of the main reasons why I decided to become an educator myself.
Slowly but surely I am starting to get better at writing my blog posts. Even though I am still very self conscious about my writing I am going to continue blogging. There are so many benefits to blogging besides wearing pretty clothes, taking photos, and sponsored posts. I have had the opportunity to meet so many wonderful women through blogging that have encouraged me and celebrated with me over my accomplishments. The blogging world is truly like a family especially here in Houston. There are so many bloggers here and each one has a unique voice.
If you are considering starting a blog but are afraid that you aren't a good enough writer I would suggest that you just go for it. I am so glad that I did.
I centered the below street style look around this fabulous cold shoulder top from ASOS. It is so soft, comfortable and roomy which I love. I was a little afraid of the high neck because this style neck usually makes me feel like I am being choked but it is actually not a problem. It did take a little getting used to but now I am totally fine with it.
I paired the top with y new favorite hat from Forever21, Paige Denim jeans, and simple black heels.
